Local Authority Building Control (LABC) –
East Midlands Building Excellence Awards 2009
The LABC East Midlands Building Excellence Awards recognise and reward the best quality design, construction and project management in the East Midlands. The quality stems from good design and an efficient design team, and is translated into quality buildings by an effective construction team. Throughout this process Local Authority Building Control monitors the quality of design and construction. The finalists are acknowledged as amongst the best projects in the East Midlands.
The sold-out event took place at the Village Hotel Nottingham on the 12th June 2009. Over 300 guests were delighted to see and be involved in the best construction projects in the East Midlands. There were several categories, including large and small residential developments, individual houses, and schemes for social or affordable housing.
Best Large Housing development
The large housing scheme focused on consistent quality that revealed the qualities of the site management team. Barley Fields’ development, at Oakerthorpe, Derbyshire was one of seven finalists in this category. It achieved ‘ Finalist’ status as the judges were impressed by the high standards of design, construction and workmanship that went into the development.
